The Little Things

“Enjoy the little things in life for one day you will look back and realize they were the big things.”  – Kurt Vonnegut

We approach the end of our bold summer with sadness that it’s over, but so much joy in knowing the many little things that happened these past two months that made a BIG difference…

  • During Day Camp, one of our campers walked with his assistive device for the very first time; he walked through the front doors of ESP surrounded by a crowd of cheering counselors as his mom watched with tears of joy from the sidelines
  • At our adult Overnight Camp, one of our campers went down the water slide at the pool and it was the first time in his life he had been down a slide; he slid into that pool with his buddy waiting to catch him at the bottom with open arms and a big smile
  • One of our long-time ESP moms took that leap of faith and dropped off her daughter at overnight camp for her first night away from home; the mom left with grateful tears and a heart full of courage, knowing her daughter was about to have the time of her life

These small moments of walking, sliding, and letting go of fears are so much bigger at ESP… they are moments of independence, joy, and respite. They are little moments that couldn’t happen without the support of you, our Fans. We thank you for these little things that make a big difference each and every day.

Sincerely,
